Job Summary:

VITALL is looking to add to its growing and accomplished development team. The successful candidate will be a Senior Full Stack Developer who is passionate about making health information meaningful. The Sr. Full Stack Developer will participate in the design, creation, and improvement of scalable software. They will be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment. They should be comfortable with both front-end and backend technological components, languages, frameworks, libraries, and workflows, including both web and native apps, and should be comfortable in guiding other team members in achieving the cohesive team goals. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the alignment of design and user experience requirements with application functionality through clean, functional, future-aligned code and system design.

You are a team player and contributor to technology decisions and architecture, and can balance day-to-day workload, with an eye for future improvements of your team and their work. You will be working as part of a group of developers who help each other solve problems across all functions. You will employ best practices in development, security, accessibility and design to achieve the highest quality of service for our clients. As a senior resource, you shall have experience working in the healthcare industry, PII/ PHI security compliances, and expertise in FHIR and HL7 data standards.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to the design of scalable software platforms with performance and security in mind
Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging
Gather and address technical and design requirements
Work with team members to collaboratively define the roadmap for features and tools
Understand product roadmap and priorities, and apply them into development workflows
Design and build client-side and server-side architecture
Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
Write effective APIs and services, with special focus on performance and security
Implement security and data protection best practices
Clearly communicate with the team through our productivity tools
Practice test-driven development
Analyze and troubleshoot production issues in a timely fashion
Contribute to documentation, functional specifications, design documents and architecture diagrams
Use AI responsibly for all development functions and workflows, while being accountable for the outcome
Apply critical thinking and validate AI outcomes aligned to strong engineering practices
Guide team members and review their outcome for strong practices
Maintain strict confidentiality of records, client information, and company information
Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
Participate in regular privacy and security training
Adherence to company policies, following all privacy and security protocols
Other job-related duties may be assigned as required

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Software engineering or equivalent
6-10 years experience in the software development and leading healthcare technology
Knowledge of multiple front end languages and libraries
Knowledge of multiple backend languages and frameworks
Familiarity with databases and cloud infrastructure
Experience developing and designing desktop, web and mobile applications
Experience working in an Agile Development environment with continuous integrations/ continuous deployment environments
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
Proven history of excelling in a team-based, collaborative environment
Working knowledge of HL7 and FHIR
Working knowledge of Health Care related privacy and security practices

Preferred:

Experience working in startup/ high-growth environment and having an entrepreneurial mindset
Experience working with EMR and health information exchange
Experience with supporting SOC2 and ISO compliance processes and audits in health-tech companies
